You are invited to submit an abstract to AWARE for a poster presentation
at our Research Symposium:
All submissions broadly related to the goals of AWARE (www.worldaware.org)
are welcome.
Proposals in
the following areas are of particular interest:
*Clinical Practices Integrating Mind, Body, and Spirit
*Investigations of Alternative and Indigenous Therapies
*Cultural Competency Issues in Holistic Health
*Enhancing Quality of Lifeand
Well-being.
What is the Research Symposium?
The Research Symposium is designed
for innovative investigators whose research may not fit neatly
into existing venues of dissemination, who are looking for an
outlet through which to share their work. The Research Symposium
will showcase empirically-based posters presenting new research
data or the findings of systematic literature reviews. Work that
has been published, or will be published before the AWARE 2004
conference, may not be submitted.
How do I submit
a proposal?
1. Complete the cover page, specifying all of the pertinent information.
2. Develop the abstract so that it includes the following:
A. Title of your poster presentation (15 words or less)
B. Purpose or objectives (No more than four) ¨
C. Summary statement that includes (when appropriate): a) perspective(s)
or theoretical framework (b) methods, techniques, or modes of
inquiry; (c) data sources or evidence; (d) results and/or conclusions/point
of view and (e) congruence/relevance of the presentation with
the theme of the conference (approximately 500 words)
D. Abstract of the presentation for inclusion in the printed conference
program (50 words or less)

When will I be notified?
Selected poster
presentations will be announced in January, 2004.
